Being half of Yetti & the Kokonut (the Koko in the Kokonut), Koen gets to play a lot! In taking some of the components for a couple of the Y&K wines (Brosé and Mt. Savagnin), he has put them together in a way that I’mnot sure the Yettiwould approve of! Here the idea of light and bright reddish wine really takes form. Quirky?Yes. Juicy? Absolutely. Serious? Not so much but there certainly is layered complexity that one can get lost in, though it is best served chilled, consumed with friends and get the second bottle ready.

A little more than two-thirds white grapes (equal parts Adelaide Hills, Gewürztraminer and McLaren Vale, Savagnin) with a splash of McLaren Vale, Cabernet Franc 🤯. The grapes were handpicked at three very different timesfor optimum ripeness for this blend: Savagnin (early-February), Gewürz (end-February), Cabernet Franc (early-March). The white components each had five days on skins while the Cabernet Franc saw seven days before being pressed and fermented in barrel. The wines were all aged separately before being brought together beforebottling after six months. The wine had amonth to harmonize together prior to being bottled without fining or filtration and only a 35ppm sulfur addition.
