Jesuit missionaries went to Mexico in the 1700’s to save Indian souls. It turns out that their own souls were saved, along with their stomachs. The Opata Indians had created an ancient healing remedy, an elixir that calmed uneasy stomachs. Before long the Jesuits were hooked on mezcal.
Santo Pecado translates as Holy Sin. It’s dry, complex, with a kick of pepper and a grounded, earthy finish.
