Appellation: Yorkville Highlands, Mendocino, California
Grape Varieties: Merlot, Malbec, Cab Franc, Cab Sauv, Petit Verdot
All grapes purchased from Yorkville Cellars, Yorkville Highlands, Mendocino County, California are under the Bordozo label. This vineyard focuses on exclusively Bordeaux varietals. There is something quite special about this old plateau river bed site. There’s a gentle western sea breeze influence with warm temperatures that give this ideal conditions for both the reds and whites. Bordozo is our play on words to make a true “Bordeaux - Style” California Table Wine.
We make a White Blend (Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon), Rosé (Merlot, Malbec) and a Red (Merlot, Malbec, Cab Franc, Cab Sauv, Petit Verdot). These wines are clearly Bordeaux style and have a certain depth and richness that put them at an amazing price point for quality. There are beautiful notes of green pepper and tobacco in the red blend that are balanced with the warm fruit notes on the front pallet. The rosé has sun bursting grapefruit notes and the white is rich and complex with gentle vanilla qualities.
