Domaine de la Pépière La Pepie

Not exactly a "fun" fact, but after yet another devastating frost destroyed over 80% of Domaine de la Pépière 2021's crop, they floated the idea of ​​doing a one-off vintage to help them get by financially. 

"Cuvée Merci" simply translates to thank you. Two friends, whom Pépière already buys grapes to make their "La Pépie" vintage, agreed to sell them finished 2020 wine from similar terroirs so they could have something to sell. 

Remi and Gwen selected their favorite tanks, but we are not going to sit here and tell you this is a Pépière wine. A large proportion of the blend was fermented with selected yeasts, a concession both the estate and we are exceptionally making to provide a desperately needed avenue for income. 

This vintage is a blend of finished 2020 wines from two producers whom the estate already buys fruit from for their "La Pépie"  vintage.  

Both were vinified in a similar fashion to "La Pépie" but a significant part of the blend was fermented with selected yeasts.
